Our Cardboard Tiger Team

  • Mark Stope

    Hey, I'm Mark

I grew up in a true gaming household and was shuffling cards for my mum and her family at age 5. At the same time I played PC games with my dad, solving mysteries and getting lost in fantasy campaigns filled with 16-bit graphics.

When I'm not playing ball hockey, disc golf or drawing in my home studio I make my living as a Production Designer, Art Director and Concept artist in film.

In 2023 I was nominated for an Emmy based on my work on the children’s show Lost Ollie. Me and my team were nominated for Best Art Direction, Set Decoration and Scenic Design.

I've even produced a few video games but, Loco Luchas was the first time I tried my hand at a physical game.

When that COVID thing happened, and film work shut down I decided it was the time to create a card game reminiscent of the ones I loved playing with my family.

I’m excited to be working with Annabel to make family games that everyone enjoys playing.

  • Annabel Youens

    Hi, I'm Annabel

The first game I ever remember playing is, of course, Monopoly. My brother and I connected our UK version and our US versions together to create a Megaopoly. That way we could both win.

In my 20s Mark introduced me to Acquire and then the bug struck with Catan - isn't this everyone's gateway game?

Since then I've been playing board games with friends, family and with my weekly board game group - man, those guys love their deep strategy games! Hello Brass Birmingham.

When I'm not playing board games I'm writing my first science-fiction novel, sewing my own clothes, hike on beautiful Vancouver Island and consult with non-profits on marketing strategies.

I'm thrilled to be bringing our goal of inclusive family games with no plastic to life and working with one of my best friends!
